Thank you for contacting us regarding President Carter’s
impending visit to Cuba. Numerous citizens have contacted us
with their thoughts and ideas regarding the planned visit, and
The Carter Center welcomes such citizen engagement. Due to the
volume of responses, we are not able to call each person
individually to discuss their ideas, but your input will help to
inform our plans.
President Carter is committed to meeting with both government
representatives and human rights leaders in Cuba. We intend to
take only a small group from The Carter Center and unfortunately
will not be able to accept requests to accompany President
Carter to Cuba.
As more information on the trip becomes available, our public
information office will issue press releases and post them on
our web site at www.cartercenter.org. Again, thank you for
taking the time to contact The Carter Center.
