Miami – September 22, 2000 (GACIC News)
The Cuban Government has cancelled the visit to the U.S.
of small farmers and owners of family-style restaurants
(name “paladares”), according with an E-Mail sent by
Peter Orr, who reported “It has been resolved that the
Cuban Government (or indefinitely postponed) the planned
visit of small farmers and small restaurant operators.
This
decision of the Cuban authorities closes another chapter
of the efforts of the U.S Chamber of Commerce to bring to
bring over farmers and representatives of private
businesses to this country, as part of a process for
gradual understanding between the Cuban Government and
representatives of U.S business.
