Principles

I. A co-op is an Economic Unit, formed by the will of their members, which coordinate their individual projects with the needs of the other participant members.
II. Each co-operative will function independently of the others, but the internal decisions must be strictly followed. Every member of the co-op has one vote.
III. Any member can leave the co-op at his own decision, without losing any property right of their lands, and can leave as soon as all of his credits have been paid and has accomplished his contractual or functional duties with the co-op.
IV. All means and equipment acquired for the co-ops will be considered collective property, and cannot be transferred to individuals, unless when considered to be in the common interest. Any member who decides to leave the project will renounce automatically those means and equipment acquired collectively.
V. All the assets acquired by private donations, institutions or foundations, which are not refundable, shall not be sold or traded in the event of co-op dissolution; those assets will transfer to similar related projects.
VI. Each member will contribute with an annual fee, while the associated partners will contribute to the co-op fund with 10% of their profits, after they have joined the project.
VII. All participant partners will keep autonomy over their assets, however the market policy should be directed by the co-op as the institution that shall establish the sale price of each harvest.
IX. The co-op operation will be based on supply and demand economic rule to determine cultivation and sale prices.
X. All co-ops will keep updated accounting books for each project and site, in order to determine operation cost.
XI. The Executive Board of each co-op shall evaluate and approve the functioning of each project.
XII. All soliciting co-ops should be approved by the National Association of Agrarian Co-ops of Cuba within 30 days of the application format.
